A New Year - A New Post
Wow! I haven't posted since April of 2010. That's almost enough time that any of the 14 subscribers to my blog might've thought that I had acquired a life. Wrong.
I can't think of anything that was so profound that made me stop blogging but I've decided to pick up where I left off.
All in all, 2010 ended on a great note and I am very grateful that my family is healthy and happy.
As a result of two months of testing in November and December, I can officially declare that I do NOT have breast cancer. I did have a lumpectomy in December and have just started five years of Tamoxifen (which is NOT a walk in the park). I realize that I could be much worse off and am grateful the only things I have to contend with are the side effects of the Tamoxifen and a slightly wonky-looking breast. They weren't movie stars prior to the surgery ;)
During this same time, my dad was hospitalized and initially, I thought we were going to lose him. Turns out that he had a terrible E. Coli infection which was shutting down his kidneys and making his heart unstable but thanks to prayers and brilliant medical staff, he turned around a made a full recovery.
There is one situation which did not have the resolution I expected but since this is a blog and not a therapy session, I'll keep THAT private.
I hope everyone had a wonderful ending to 2010 and hope that 2011 brings you and those you care about health and happiness. I'll be back soon.
